Calderdale woman celebrates her 100th birthday

Born in Hebden Bridge to parents Nellie and Ernest Greenwood, Phyllis attended Mytholm School.

She married Arthur Jackson on January 1945. Together they had four children - Michael, Derek, Kathryn and Margaret - and lived in Brearley for 56 years.

Phyllis became a widow in 2000 and went to live at Elphaborough, Mytholmroyd in 2009 until she was flooded out on Boxing Day 2015 when she moved to Rastrick to be nearer to her eldest son.

She has eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Sadly, due to current restrictions, she is unable to have a party but family and friends will gather together as soon as it is possible.
