The duo are raising money for Overgate Hospice in Elland, and personally, in memory of Rachael Newbould, who sadly died recently.

Both from the village of Shelf, Emilie and Kelly will start at 5pm singing five Christmas Carols on Moorbank Drive off Green Lane, then walking on to the top of Shelf Moor Road to perform five more Carols on the Green.

“We’d love to see people watching and singing along with us - at a distance of course,” said Kelly. “Lets keep the Christmas cheer burning bright whilst raising vital funds for those in our community sadly facing the end of their life.

“Emilie and I both very much love to sing and thought why not shine a light at a really dark time whilst raising funds for the Wonderful Overgate Hospice, and for personal reasons as the Craven family recently lost a dear friend and mother of two young girls to cancer, Rachael Newbould, a local lady with the kindest soul who fought courageously with such dignity but unfortunately lost her battle in November whilst at Overgate.

“We just desperately want to stress the invaluable work that Overgate Hospice do in a joyful way.”

They have chosen to sing 12 Days of Christmas, Silent Night, Rocking around the Christmas Tree, We Wish you a Merry Christmas and All I want for Christmas.
