Halifax fundraiser Ben Moorhouse preparing for his biggest challenge yet

Halifax fundraiser Ben Moorhouse will be taking on his biggest and most dangerous extreme challenge walk in Rhodes next year in honour of his daughter Kallipateira.

In August 2018, Ben walked around the full island of Rhodes in Greece, a total of 150 miles, which included a 13 hour sleep and rest at the half way point of Prasonisi at the most southern tip of the island before walking back up the East Coast.

Ben and Gaynor’s daughter Kallipateira was stillborn in October 2018 at Calderdale Royal Hospital just two weeks before her due date.

On August 14, 2021, at the height of summer, Ben will go above and beyond what he has done before as he will attempt to walk around the full island of Rhodes, but this time none stop with no sleep.

This will be alongside his support team of Jason Croft and Gaynor Thompson. Ben is looking to complete the 150 miles which is the equivalent of just under seven full marathons in 48 hours or less.

Ben said: “Next year in Rhodes I will have to take things to a new level and I am fully prepared to risk everything to do this for the love of my daughter and to help save babies lives with all funds going to Professor Heazell and his teams at the Tommys Manchester Rainbow Clinic and Research Centre. I have a big eight months ahead of preparation and come August I will be ready.”
