Manuel Benages, founder of charity Get Fit, and Stephen Olexy, charity trustee, will be taking on the challenge to raise awareness of suicide prevention.

The challenge will take roughly 28 hours and be split into intervals. The distance is roughly 125km in total and equates to the distance of Mount Everest.

The reason for the challenge is to raise awareness of the loss of lives through suicide. There were 105 deaths to suicide per week in 2019 in England and Wales.

It is also hoped the challenge will raise funds to put more people through the eight week programme at Get Fit 4 Mental Wellness, which has already helped more than 25 people.
