To motivate and add some competition to your challenge, the branch also encourages getting family and friends to sponsor you to raise much needed funds for the animals currently in their centre during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Community Fundraiser Michelle King said: “We’re really excited to be launching this brand-new challenge where people of any fitness level or capability can take part - I’ll even be taking on the challenge myself! It’s a great way to get active and also support and raise funds for the animals who have been with us during Lockdown’’

All participants who raise over £20 in sponsorship will receive an official medal for their achievement and can easily set up their own fundraising page on JustGiving or get in touch with the Branch for a sponsor form.

The challenge has already had its first participant in the form of Max – one of the current residents at the Animal Centre who will be putting his best Paw Forward to cover the 26.2 miles on his daily walks over the next month.

So if you don’t want to take on the challenge yourself, you can support Max with his by visiting www.justgiving.com/campaign/bestpawforward
