Halifax's Shibden Mill Inn crowned Yorkshire's best

Calderdale pubs are the toast of Yorkshire after taking the top two spots in Yorkshire's Favourite Pub competition.

The Shibden Mill Inn in Halifax has been voted Yorkshire’s Favourite Pub for a second time - it was the first pub to win the prestigious title when the competition began in 2011.

The Millers Bar in Brighouse was awarded second place and The Fairfax Arms, Gilling East, came third.

Caitlin Heaton, owner of Shibden Mill Inn, said: “It’s just fantastic!

"We’re delighted! Shibden Mill Inn has been a family business for 20 years and is still going strong with loads of new ideas.

"We just can’t wait for the next 20 years. To have won back in 2011 and to win again seven years later shows we’ve kept up our consistently high standards. A huge thanks to everyone who voted for us”
