News Editor Alex Johnston, Acting Sports Editor Ed White and reporters James Metcalf and Dan Windham are bidding to raise as much as possible by going 30 days without shaving during November - as part of ‘Movember’.

Alex said: “We’re not the grizzliest, most rugged chaps in North Yorkshire, but I reckon between us we’ll get some whiskers on the go.

“We’re chucking away the razors for a month, so please excuse the boys if they attend an event looking like Captain Pugwash.

“Please help us raise some funds for Saint Michael’s Hospice by giving whatever you can.

“You can see every week in these pages the incredible difference the hospice makes to the lives of so many in our district.”

Chief Executive of Saint Michael’s, Tony Collins, said: “As a member of the charity’s award-winning Guild of Patrons, the Harrogate Advertiser is a tremendous supporter of Saint Michael’s.

“We’re delighted to hear that members of the ‘Advertiser team will be taking part in Movember to help Saint Michael’s provide more care and support for people living with terminal illness and bereavement.

“We wish them luck and hope they have fun whilst raising vital funds and awareness for their local hospice.”

Support the lads.
