Almost 200 customers in Todmorden were without electric power for around two and a half hours today (Tuesday, April 27).

Northern Powergrid said power was lost in the Harley Bank area of town around 5.10am, affecting 195 customers, but some residents reported electricity was available for part of the morning until around 10.45am.

The company said the complexity of the work meant power would not be restored until an estimated 4pm, but some residents reported power returning by 2.30pm.

Repairs necessitated digging up the road at Harley Street.
