Independent boutique raised more than £2,300 for Overgate Hospice by hosting charity fashion show
An independent women’s boutique raised more than £2,300 by organising a special charity fashion show for Overgate Hospice.
Keepers Edit hosted the event at Baines Hall in Elland and raised £2,315.50 for the much-loved charity.
The event, organised in collaboration with local supporter Jane Schofield, brought together women from across the community for an evening of fashion, fundraising and heartfelt support for a cause that holds deep personal meaning for boutique owner Ness Burke.

Overgate Hospice cared for Ness’ father during his final days last summer.
“Overgate had always been a charity close to my heart,” Ness said.
“But after losing my Dad there last year, it took on an even deeper meaning for me and my family.
"You never truly understand the need for a Hospice — the dignity, the compassion, love and the support they give — until you experience it first-hand yourself.

“The care they showed my Dad, and all of us as a family, is something I will be forever grateful for.”
The fashion show featured real customers modelling the latest collections from Keepers Edit, celebrating what the brand stands for — real clothes for real women with real lives.
The evening was a powerful showcase of women supporting women, with customers, friends and local supporters volunteering their time to model, help backstage and raise funds.
Ness added: “It was about so much more than fashion.
“It was about community. Women lifting each other up. And coming together to support a charity that means so much to so many local families.”
Ness also paid tribute to Jane, whose dedication and commitment to Overgate Hospice inspired the event: “It was an honour to be asked to host the evening. Jane’s passion for the Hospice is incredible, and her hard work made the whole event possible.”
All proceeds from ticket sales, raffle entries and on-the-night purchases contributed to the £2,315.50 total, which will go directly towards supporting Overgate Hospice’s vital services.
Ness hopes this will not be the last fundraising event for the Hospice.
She said: “I will continue to do what I can to raise vital funds and awareness.
"Overgate supports families at the most difficult time of their lives — and that’s something our community should be incredibly proud of.”
