Lee Mount Care Home help Eve celebrate her 100th birthday with an unforgettable day

Lee Mount Care Home pulled out all the stops to ensure it was a very happy 100th birthday for one of their residents on Sunday.

Eve Brady, who has three children, has lived in the care home for almost two years.
She has lived in Manchester, Germany and East Anglia and her hobbies include gardening and baking, while she is a former member of the Women’s Institute.
She is originally from Cardiff and served in the RAF in the war.
Manjinder Dhiman, registered manager at the care home, said: “We planned to have a big party but under the circumstances we had to change everything round.
“She had been looking forward to it for months, so everyone - staff, other residents, people from the community - all chipped in to give her a good day.
”We set all the dining room up, got a garden arch from outside, and then a business called Flowers By Jade decorated it all with flowers, and they didn’t charge us for that, they gave it as a gift to Eve, which was a really nice gesture.
”We arranged a video call with about 10 members if her family, who arranged for six bottles of Prosecco and a massive cake.
”She got a card from the Queen, one of the kitchen staff made her a special birthday buffet, and we arranged a special birthday message from Andrew Marr, who is her favourite presenter.
”There was also a video call from the Mayor, who said she will come and see Eve when she can.
”Trinity Academy sent her a special comic book they made for her, she had loads of flowers and presents sent in from family.
”For us, it’s an honour to have her as part of this service. Every year me and Eve make a Christmas cake together.
”She was overwhelmed, she really enjoyed it.
”She said it was the best day that she’s had in her life.”
