Ovenden crash: Tributes to 'kindest soul' and 'most genuine lad' Troy Hardy who died aged 18 in Halifax accident
Troy Hardy, who was only 18, was on a Hanway motorcycle which crashed on the A629 Ovenden Road near Shroggs Road shortly after 4pm.
One of his friends, Finley Thomas, has described the former Calderdale College student as “the most genuine lad you could have ever come across”.

Hide Ad"Everyone who knew Troy knows that whenever he entered the room, he had a smile on his face that instantly lit the room up,” he said.


"I knew that boy for a short amount of time however in the time he became a brother to me.
"He loved his family, his girlfriend and his friends and always made sure that he had time for everyone.
"Troy was the kindest soul to have ever stepped on this planet and he will be missed by everyone.
"Sleep well brother, I’ll never forget you.”

One said: “Sleep tight Troy Boy, we love you always and forever. You’ll be the brightest star in the sky.”
Another said: “Such a lovely young lad! Gone, never forgotten #forever18.”
One said: “Rest in paradise Troy. Sending my love and condolences to his family and friends at this awful time.”

And one said: “Going to miss you so much, Troy. You meant a lot to me and my family and will be forever missed by all of us.”
Police say Troy’s family are being offered support from specially-trained officers.
The road was closed for several hours yesterday while investigations into what happened took place.
