Police need help tracing last movements of Halifax man hit by train

British Transport Police (BTP) is appealing for the public’s help to trace the last movements of a 43-year-old man who died after being struck by a train in Halifax on Saturday, June 7.

BTP officers are working to piece together the final movements of Paul George Grajnert, of Wellington Place, Halifax.

He died after being struck by a Huddersfield to Leeds service shortly before 11pm between Beacon Hill tunnel and Hipperholme.

Detective Inspector Ian Trantum, of BTP, said: “Our thoughts are very much with Mr Grajnert’s family at this sad time and BTP officers have been providing support since his death. The family is understandably distraught and keen to find out the full circumstances which led to his death on the railway line.”
