Stagecoach Performing Arts in Halifax moves to new premises

The Halifax branch of Stagecoach Performing Arts has returned in a new venue.

The singing, dancing and acting lessons will now be held at Kings Church (Park Road, HX1 2TS), a larger, well-ventilated space that will allow the implementation of robust safety measures.

Kings Church offers spacious rooms for rehearsals and impressive performance space. Two staircases mean students can safely move around in a one-way system and remain in class ‘bubbles’.

Alex Antonova, Principal of Stagecoach Halifax, said, “This new venue means that we can run all three streams of teaching for each age group while also maintaining the crucial safety measures. The safety of our community is our top priority.

“The disruption from the lockdown has been felt by everyone and we know our students have missed classes. The Performing Arts can play a very important role in development, so it is fantastic that we can use this new space to safely teach in-person again. We of course would welcome the opportunity to run classes in our previous venue again, our intention is to grow our Stagecoach community and welcome even more young performers!”

During the lockdown period, Stagecoach Halifax shared a range of online lessons called ‘stagecoachathome’. The streamed classes covered singing, dancing and acting disciplines in a virtual environment.

Stagecoach is the largest network of extra-curricular performing arts schools in the UK and has seen the likes of Emma Watson (Harry Potter, Beauty and the Beast), Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, Fantastic Four), and Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark, Jack the Giant Slayer) pass through its doors.
