Supermarket restrictions: what you need to know store-by-store

Here is what you need to know for when you go shopping to the supermarkets and to help those most in need during the coronavirus crisis.

Aldi

Stores open from 8am

They do home delivery


Asda
Priority from opening until 9am for the elderly and vulnerable.
Customers are asked to consider less popular delivery times for online orders.


Co-op

Most of their stores are open from 6am or 7am, with a dedicated hour for those at higher risk and carers.

Iceland

All their stores have dedicated opening hours to the elderly and vulnerable on all days.

Online orders have been limited to customers who are over state pension age, self-isolating and other vulnerable people, such as the disabled

Lidl

Stores open from 8am

They do home delivery


M&S

The first hour of trade has been set aside for over 70s and vulnerable customers on Mondays and Thursdays, and NHS workers on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Morrisons

Will use 9am to 10am every day from Monday to Saturday to provide more help to elderly and vulnerable customers

Sainsbury’s

First hour after opening set aside for elderly and vulnerable customers and carers.

NHS and social care workers will be able to shop for half an hour before they open (7.30am to 8am), from Monday to Saturday.

Online delivery slots will be prioritised for over 70s and disabled from Monday 26 March.


Tesco

Priority given to elderly and vulnerable customers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am to 10am.

Asking online customers who can do so to go in store or use click and collect to free up delivery slots for the elderly and vulnerable.
