Is Peter the Shaymen's most loyal supporter?

Peter Noble, is possibly the most loyal disciple of FC Halifax Town. He is a fan that has now reached an amazing attendance achievement of 400 consecutive games.

The dedicated supporter has travelled up and down the country following the Shaymen - seeing promotions, big wins, lots of draws and painful losses since beginning his epic run five years ago. He has been to every single home and away game; visiting dozens of grounds to cheer on his team.

Peter works as a researcher for Sports Interactive; a videogaming company behind the Football Manager series.

“I’ve upset family by missing weddings and stuff but they all know that when the football is on it takes priority.

On reaching the milestone he said: “It was not something I really set out to do. I think it was a mate who said to me that he didn’t think I had missed many matches all season then I said I hadn’t missed one. Then we checked back through it and and that’s when I realised I’d been to that many games.

This season alone Peter has followed his team from Torquay to Tranmere and Gateshead to Guiseley and will continue to watch the Shaymen around the country for the forseeable future.

“I think the first game was a West Riding County Cup match against Ossett Town or Ossett Albion, I think it was a pretty drab 1-1.

On how far he believes he has travelled he said: “I think I’ve done about 8, 000 miles or something like that.”

Relegation threatened Town play Macclesfield tomorrow in their last home league game of 2015/16.

On his club’s chances of survival he said: “I think it’ll go down to the wire - but we’ve played well the past couple of games.”
