The curtain came down on the Yorkshire One rugby union season on Saturday and there were mixed fortunes for Calderdale’s four teams.

Therer were home wins for Heath (37-17 v Middlesbrough) and Old Rishworthians (30-24 against Moortown) and away defeats for Old Crossleyans (21-19 at Dinnington) and Old Brodleians (38-32 at Beverley).

Heath have finished second in the division and will be promoted behind Moortown if they beat West Hartlepool in a play-off game. Saturday’s match also doubled as a Yorkshire Shield semi-final so the North Dean side have a second big game still to play before the summer break.

Rishworthians will be firmly behind their local rivals in the play-off game. The Copley side have finished second-from-bottom but could be spared the drop if a second team from Yorkshire One is promoted.
