Clouds of coloured powdered paint covered the 1,350 runners as they took part in the event to raise money for the hospice.

This year’s Colour Run saw the return of host Bazz from Bazzmatazz Dance Studio, who warmed up the crowd to ‘This is the Greatest Show’ before introducing The Colour Run Cuddle, asking everyone in the crowd to hug their nearest and dearest for 30 seconds, remembered loved one no longer with us.

The event was sponsored by Orchard Facilities Management and Cornerstone Recruitment with a further five companies offering their help on the day: Caravan Guard, Brook Miller Mobility, MSL Property Care Services, Calderdale Chiropractic and Bluebird Care. Each sponsor brought a team along to man one of the five colour stations positioned around the route, and took pleasure in covering both the runners, and inadvertently themselves, in the paint!

Rebecca Ryan, Senior Events Fundraiser at Overgate Hospice, said; “It was fantastic to see so many people take part in our fifth Colour Run. We are so grateful to everyone who took part and helped to make it our best yet!

“I would like to extend special thanks to our sponsors; to our Colour Party hosts Bazz & DJ Mike and to the team of over 50 volunteers, without whom the event

simply could not have taken place.”
