Yorkshire Water is about to start a project to improve water supplies in Bailiff Bridge.
On Monday, January 12, engineering specialists Morrison Utility Services will begin to replace the main water pipe that runs under Halifax Road and Birkby Lane.
The team will replace 1,080 metres of ageing water main between the junction with Whitwood Lane and the entrance to Hartshead Moor Reservoir. The £200,000 project will take around six weeks to complete. The existing cast iron water main is 80-years-old and is now in bad condition, having burst numerous times in the last five years.
There will be a lane reduction and speed restriction to 30mph to protect the workforce. Traffic lights will also be used when workers need to cross the carriageway.
