Plans for a new fire station in Clough Lane, Rastrick, have been approved.

The five councillors on Calderdale Council’s planning committee voted in favour of the application submitted by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

Concerns were raised about the highways and the fact that the land is in green belt. There were also 36 letters of objections received by the council.

The new station will now serve Brighouse and Elland.
