The proposal to turn the Norwood Green Cricket Club pavilion was brought forward by coun David Kirton (Hipperholme and Lightcliffe, con) on the grounds that the conversion would not impact on the existing use of the land and that the conversion is in accordance with Green Belt policy.

But councillors refused the application on the grounds of preventing the loss of the pavilion; plans are not in accordance with policies under the Replacement Calderdale Unitary Development Plan; and to protect Green Belt land as plans would implement an enclosed residential curtilage and access road.
