A PLAYGROUND is swinging once again thanks to a much-needed makeover.
St John’s Park in Rishworth now has new play equipment for children of all ages as well as an adventure playground and a woodland area.
Access to the site from Rishworth New Road for prams and wheelchairs has also been improved.
Ripponden Parish Council paid around £15,000 towards the £48,000 project, with Calderdale Council stumping up the rest.
Geoff Potts, chairman of the parish council, said the once-neglected park was now looking “fantastic”.
“It is great, and especially in these times of austerity, that we have managed to get something done and it’s had a very good reaction.”
