A West Yorkshire women who has helped over 5000 young people struggling with self confidence by inspiring women across the world to give inspirational talks and guidance has been named a Point of Light by Prime Minister David Cameron.
In November 2012, Kate Hardcastle launched The Positive Image Campaign to support young people struggling with self confidence. The campaign provides students in schools and college with access to speakers and mentors to help improve the confidence of young women.
Kate, 39, a business owner, is the latest recipient of a Point of Light award, which recognises outstanding individual volunteers, people who are making a change in their community and inspiring others. Each day, someone, somewhere in the country is selected to receive the award to celebrate their achievements.
Calder Valley MP Craig Whittaker, said: “Kate is extremely dedicated to her work and helping others, and I cannot think of a better person who deserves such recognition. I wish her every success for the future.”
