Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision on Friday, April 18 on New Hey Road in Huddersfield.

A Suzuki car was in collision with a Gilera moped at the junction with Quebec Road.

A 16 year old male driver of the moped received a broken ankle and was taken to hospital for surgery.

PC Daniel Pennington of the Southern Area Roads Policing Team said: “An independent female witness provided her mobile phone number to a relative of the moped rider, however; these details were taken down incorrectly.

“I would therefore ask that she come forward and assist in our enquiries surrounding the nature of the collision.

“Likewise, I would ask that any further witnesses to contact us via the non emergency number 101.”
