A MAN who converted his loft to grow cannabis has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Police raided the house in Edgerton Street, Sowerby Bridge, and found more than 330 grammes of harvested skunk cannabis and growing equipment.
Bradford Crown Court heard Aaron Swift, 24, had been growing the cannabis for his own use. He claimed to have been smoking 14 grammes a day. He admitted producing the drug.
Recorder Sophie Drake sentenced Swift to nine months in jail, but suspended the term for 18 months. He must also attend a thinking skills programme and do 150 hours’ unpaid work.
