Police hunt for trio who mugged boy

POLICE are hunting three teenagers who mugged a boy in Rastrick.

The 12-year-old was walking with friends on Highfield Road near the junction with Bedale Avenue when he was approached by the trio.

The teens threatened the group of friends before stealing the 12-year-old’s Blackberry.

The culprits are described as Asian, aged between 14 and 16, and wearing dark hooded tops and baseball caps. One was also wearing bright blue trousers.

Detective Constable John Orley, of Calderdale CID, said: “There is a parade of shops at this junction which would have been open at this time and people would have been passing.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who can help with the identification of the three suspects to get in touch.”
