Police are appealing for information following a suspected arson attack in Huddersfield.
Huddersfield CID are investigating the incident which took place in the early hours of Thursday, February 21 on Hurstwood after a fire was set in the bin store of residential flats.
Firefighters were called to the scene in which the blaze spread from the wooden bin store and caused damage to electrical boxes outside a property, knocking out power to some homes.
No-one was hurt in the incident and no damage was caused to properties themselves.
DC Joanne Sharp of Huddersfield CID, said: “We are investigating this incident with the fire service and want to reassure residents we are doing everything in our power to identify those responsible.
“This fire has caused disruption to residents and it is fortunate there were not far more serious consequences.
“Setting a fire so close to homes is extremely dangerous and I would encourage anyone who may know the identity of those responsible, or saw someone acting suspiciously outside the flats, to get in touch with us or to make an anonymous call to CrimeStoppers.”
