Police issue appeal after theft from vehicle

Police are appealing for witnesses following a theft from a vehicle.

Officers are now investigating the incident which took place at about 10.10pm on Friday, March 8, on Everard Street, near to Rudding Street, Crossland Moor in Huddersfield.

It occurred after the victim, a 31-year-old man, was parking up his car when a male suddenly opened his passenger door and took a HTC Desire mobile phone which had been left on the front seat.

The victim then followed the suspect and demanded the phone back. On being confronted the thief turned and produced a knife, causing the victim to leave the scene.

The suspect was described as Asian, in his late 20’s to early 30’s and of skinny build. He had short hair and was either clean shaven or had a slight stubble. He was wearing a black hooded top.
