Police want to speak to man who threw curry powder in woman’s face

Police want to speak to this man in connection with an attempted robbery on a 43-year-old woman on Butler Street West in Bradford on Saturday morning.

The incident happened at around 7.15am when the male suspect appeared to throw curry powder in the victim’s face and made demands for the victim’s laptop which was in a case in her hand.

The victim refused and a struggle ensued resulting in the suspect running away from the scene empty-handed.

Following the incident the victim suffered stinging to her eyes and she was unable to see properly but received assistance from members of the public near to Barkerend Road.

The suspect is described as an Asian Male aged in his late teens to early twenties, average build with short black hair.

He had a round face, thin lips, stubble on both cheeks, and a small flat nose. He spoke with a Yorkshire accent and was wearing a bright white coloured woollen type cardigan, light grey jogging bottoms and dark coloured footwear.

The victim is not believed to have suffered any long term injury from the incident but has been left understandably shaken.
