An application for homes on the Brewery Lane site were approved in 2014, and a mill building has been demolished to make way for the development.

Work never started, and earlier this Summer, Bradford and Leeds Property Ltd submitted a new application for the site that would see five, five-bedroom homes and two detached garages built on the land.

They said there would be minimal changes compared to the previously approved plan.

The application has now been approved by Bradford Council, with officers saying: “The current application is not considered to have any greater impact on openness than previous approvals.”

The site lies within the Green Belt, but officers pointed out that it had previously been developed, and that plans for homes on the site had been approved in the past.

Conditions of the approval include that the development includes highway improvements to Brewery Lane, and that bat roosts are installed in some of the houses.
