Brighouse firm gets the go-ahead to build large industrial unit

Plans created by a Brighouse company to build a large industrial unit in Bradford have been approved by Bradford Council.

Submitted by Brighouse based JNP Group, the application for a 1,100 square metre building related to land on Trevor Foster Way, currently used to store articulated lorry cabs for repair and adaptions.

The site would also have a 36 space car park and two electric car charging points.

The application said the development would “provide an excellent opportunity for new businesses to have a new up to date general industrial units within minutes of the M606/M62 motorway the main arterial link between the East and West coast of England.”

It said the development would create 12 full time jobs.

Approving the scheme yesterday, planning officers said: “The demand and supply of unrestricted employment land is a challenge within the district, and there is limited supply of suitable sites. It is therefore crucial that the best use is made of these sites in creating employment opportunities.

“It also weighs in favour of the proposal that the location is extremely sustainable, close to the city centre and well linked to the highway network and public transport services.”
