Calderdale Council’s planning department is considering plans to demolish the former Claremount Liberal Club and replace it with nine new houses.

The plans from M&S Development Properties Ltd, Halifax, outline details for nine three-bedroom properties, in three separate blocks, on the site at the junction of Belgrave Avenue and Belgrave Crescent.
The existing building has been empty for around twelve months
The proposed units will be constructed using coursed artificial stonework, with artificial stonework and UPVC windows.
A previous similar planning application was submitted in 2012.
It was met with objections from residents and Halifax MP Linda Riordan and was eventually withdrawn due to the lack of a bat survey.
The applicants say the new plans have taken into account the concerns raised previously.

The nearby Belgrave Social Club will remain open.
