“The easiest way to register is online, alternatively, you can contact Electoral Services on 01422 393103 to request a form.”

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, there are also different ways you can vote, said Mr Tuddenham.

“We know that the voting process will feel very different this year, and many may prefer to opt for a postal vote instead of attending a polling station on Thursday, May 6.

“If you’d prefer to vote this way it’s important that you apply before 5pm on Tuesday, April 20.

“Alternatively, you can appoint someone you trust to vote in your place – this is known as a proxy vote.

“The deadline to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm on Tuesday, April 27.

“However you choose to cast your vote, residents can be assured that we’re doing all we can to ensure the voting process is as safe and efficient as possible,” he said.
