- Each of the 17 wards are being contested, with two seats in the mix in Ovenden ward.
- With 26 seats needed for an overall majority, Labour will need to hold nine of the 11 seats it is defending, or make compensatory gains elsewhere, to retain overall control.
Shock in Northowram and Shelf
A big surprise with the Green candidate Martin Hey being elected ahead of Conservative councillor Stephen Baines who was looking to retain his seat.
Three more seats needed for Labour
The Labour group in Calderdale now need just three more seats to retain control of the Council. Before the results they needed nine of the 11 seats it is defending, or make compensatory gains elsewhere,
Rastrick ward result
The Conservatives have held its seat in Rastrick. Regan Dickenson has been elected.
Another result and Labour hold another seat.
This it’s in Park park ward where Shazad Fazal has been elected.
Cabinet member holds his seat
Councillor Scott Patient has held his seat. It means that Labour have retained another seat.
What we know so far.
Labour has held three of the nine seats they need to regain control.
The Conservatives have held two seats but lost one to the Lib Dems in Greetland and Stainland.
However the loss has been balanced by gaining the Hipperholme and Lightcliffe ward.
