An application for housing on the Brewery Lane site were approved in 2014, and a mill building on the land has been demolished to make way for the homes.

Work on the homes had not started, but now Bradford and Leeds Property Ltd have submitted a new application for the site that would see five, five-bedroom homes and two detached garages built on the land.

The application says there are only “minimal” changes compared to the previously approved housing scheme.

The plans also include highway improvements to Brewery Lane.

The site lies within both the Greenbelt and the Thornton and Queensbury Landscape Character Area, but Bradford Council has already approved the idea of housing on the site, saying it would be a sympathetic development in the area, and that the houses would not have any greater impact than the previous buildings.

A decision on the application is expected in October.
