Discussions are continuing with the directors of FC Halifax Town and Halifax RLFC with Calderdale Council over the future plans for the Shay Stadium.
Leader of the Council Stephen Baines said that talks have been held with both clubs and officers from the council.
At the full council meeting Coun Baines said that once they were in a position to bring a report to councillors they will do so.
Discussions are being held on the rent payments of both clubs and the outlook for the future of the stadium.
Coun Baines also confirmed that the council was in talks with a company regrading the annex part of the stadium.
He said officers hope to conclude the discussions for both the annex and the rent payments in the coming weeks.
