Football fans have been praised by police after an incident free match at local derby.
Supporters of Leeds Utd and Sheffield Wednesday were thanked for their behaviour after an incident free match at Elland Road yesterday.
Chief Superintendent Paul Money, Match Commander for the fixture said: “The match passed off relatively trouble-free with only three arrests made for public order offences.
“I would like to thank fans from both sides for their good behaviour.”
Police had urged fans to demonstrate their passion in the right way ahead of the weekend’s much-anticipated Yorkshire clash.
Several weeks of planning between the police, clubs and the football league, had taken place ahead of the 12.30pm kick-off to ensure genuine fans can enjoy the game and their time in Leeds.
