Prince Tom finds his Sleeping Beauty

STUNNING Sameera Steward will be the envy of teenage girls across Calderdale later this year.

The brunette actress will be woken from her slumbers by a kiss from handsome prince, TV actor Tom Milner, in the Victoria Theatre pantomime Sleeping Beauty.

Now the show producers are looking for a cast of talented youngsters aged between eight and 16 to join the chorus.

On Sunday, September 12, scouts from Imagine Theatre will be in town to hold the open chorus auditions for children with star quality.

They should arrive at the theatre at 9.45am for a 10am start, wearing comfortable clothing and shoes suitable to move and dance in.

Auditionees must be accompanied by at least one parent or guardian who will be requested to wait throughout the audition process.

Sameera is the latest addition to the enticing cast list, which again includes Calderdale entertainer Neil Hurst, whose portrayal of Buttons in Cinderella last year added extra sparkle to the show.

Preparations have already started for the fairytale panto at the Victoria from Saturday, December 11 to Sunday, January 2.

Calderdale-born singer and actor Neil will play Josh the Jester and Halifax teenage TV star Tom, of BBC shows Waterloo Road and Holby City, has been cast as Prince Valiant.

Theatre marketing manager John Sell says: "Neil captivated audiences with his loveable personality, non-stop banter and perfect comedy timing. We are delighted that he will be joining the cast.

"Tom's handsome looks makes him a perfect prince for the beautiful Sleeping Beauty. "With an enchanting mix of music, magic, adventure and lots of hilarious slapstick comedy, Sleeping Beauty is the must-see treat for the festive season."
