Pub applies for extension to boost business

A pub is seeking to open a 12-bedroom extension to its premises.

The Hobbit, at Norland, was recently re-opened under new ownership and their are clearly big plans in the pipeline.
The two-storey extension will include disabled access, double rooms with en-suite facilities and balcony terrace, and a “large family semi-self catering suite”.
Documents submitted to the council’s planning department say the extension will be in keeping with the existing building.
“It will significantly increase the business at the Hobbit Hotel making it more sustainable. At present only 12 couples can stay over on function nights in rooms that currently exclude children.”
