Putting focus on birdwatching at wildlife event

Calderdale wildlife and community groups joined together at the weekend to be a part of the world’s biggest garden wildlife survey - the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch.

The Cromwell Bottom Wildlife Group, the fourth Rastrick Brownies and members of the public placed handmade birdfeeders at the Cromwell Bottom Nature Reserve and went birdwatching while enjoying the warmer winter weather.

Graham Haigh, of the Cromwell Bottom Wildlife Group, said: “It was a good day.

“The Rastrick Brownies had made birdfeeders so we helped them place them around the reserve.”

The Big Garden Birdwatch happens once a year across the country, encouraging people to get out and about watching Britain’s wildlife.
