A Mad Hatter Calderdale wide tea party fundraiser has made more than £7,500 for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.

The month long tea party kicked off on Yorkshire Day and continued throughout August with a variety of events to help the hospice near Rastrick which cares for children and their families throughout the district and neighbouring Kirklees.

The annual effort for the charity raised £2,000 more than this time last year.

Lisa Calvert, pictured, community fundraiser, said: “It was fantastic how the community came together to raise vital funds to support the children’s hospice.”
