Following the success of the school’s Inspirational Teaching and Learning event last year, 170 Year nine pupils were asked to deliver lessons to Years seven and eight for a whole day.

From setting out learning objectives and creating resources to planning and delivering the lessons, the pupils rose to the challenge with confidence to make the day a success.

A school spokesperson said: “What a challenge we set Year nine and boy, did they do an amazing job.

“They were given learning objectives, ideas and resources and went away to plan their lessons to deliver to Key Stage Three students.

“We had Year nine teaching Year seven and eight students about the pros and cons of using CADCAM in design technology, helping them philosophise about spirituality in religious studies, talking tactics on the sports pitches and teaching our younger students about how rugby shirts arrive at Twickenham in geography.

“They were, in a word, outstanding.”
