Rastrick Sports Club are one of a number of clubs across the country to be holding a swimathon this weekend.
Around 45 members of the club are expected to take part over the weekend, while on Saturday morning between 8.30 and 10.00, eight participants will take up the challenge of swimming 5k.
The UK’s biggest fundraising swimming event will see thousands of people taking the plunge at hundreds of pools around the country in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The challenges are designed to suit all levels of fitness, all abilities and all ages. People can choose to take on an individual 1.5k, 2.5km or 5k challenges or the Team 1.5k and 5k.
Over the past 27 years of Swimathon, more than half a million swimmers have taken part, raising over £40million for charitable causes.
