Record crowds turned out for a spot of fun in the sun at this year’s Mytholmroyd Gala.
The procession set off at noon from Orchard Park Industrial Estate, filtering through the village until it reached Burnley Road Primary School.
The gala was officially opened by Pam Saville, a retired Burnley Road School headteacher who had helped with the Gala for many years.
This year’s Gala queen, Natasha Burnside, travelled through the procession on a 1946 Mytholmroyd Moderna truck before being crowned.
Chairman George Sumner said: “It’s been absolutely fantastic. We’ve had record crowds and everybody enjoying themselves.”
Winners of the fancy dress competition were Ethan Broadbent in the 11-and-under category, Shannon Talbot in the 11-16 group and Jefferey Andrews for the 16-adults.
Appearing at the event were local magician Si Hammah, rockabilly band Mad Jack and the Hatters and gala vice chairman Rick Wild of the Overlanders.
