Rescue team's rapid response to help woman injured in beck fall

The Calder Valley Search and Rescue team helped with the treatment of an woman who was injured after a fall in Oxenhope.

On Saturday at 12.40pm the team received a request for assistance from Yorkshire Ambulance Service with the rescue of a female walker who had slipped and sustained an ankle injury whilst walking alongside Bridgehouse Beck in Oxenhope.

All team vehicles were en-route within 20 minutes and the first members on scene by 1.10pm.

Whilst a CVSRT doctor and the attending paramedics dealt with the casualty’s pain, team members assembled the Bell stretcher and prepared for the carry out.

Once stable the woman's ankle was placed into a splint, and she was put onto a stretcher.

Team members then carried the woman ¼ mile to the road and transferred her into the waiting ambulance.
