“We have been undertaking some maintenance work in Clifton this morning. In order to do this we had to isolate a particular part and lay some extra pipe so water could peoples water supply wasn’t disrupted.

“There has been a technical hitch with that solution and as soon as we realised that it wasn’t working we aborted the maintenance and put it back to normal.”

Water supply was restored to the village at 11.30am but workers will return to carry out more maintenance at a later date.
