Rapidly rising virtuoso singer-songwriter and musician AJ Brown has been invited to support music legend Burt Bacharach as part of his UK tour.
AJ, who hails from Rishworth will support the six-time Grammy Award winner and two-time Academy Award winner on four dates at the end of June and into July.
The invite to share the same stage as the global superstar has delighted AJ who has been grabbing headlines over the past 12 months as a result of his silky smooth vocals and stunning skills as a pianist.
The Burt Bacharach tour will see 26-year-old AJ supporting him at the London Palladium (June 25), Bristol Colston Hall (June 27), Liverpool Philharmonic Hall (June 29) and Southend Cliffs Pavilion (July 6).
Speaking about the support slot, AJ said: “This is an absolute dream come true. I was stunned when I got the call to say I’d had this invite to support one of my absolute idols.
“Burt Bacharach is quite simply a musical genius. His incredible talent has reached millions of people over the decades and to now be able to say I am going to be performing on the same stage as him is amazing.
“I have had the honour over the past 12 months or so of supporting and performing with a fantastic array of artists. To now add Burt Bacharach to that list is quite something.”
AJ is no stranger to working with big name stars having supported the likes of George Benson, Billy Ocean, Elaine Paige and Marti Pellow last year as well as touring with Sir Tom Jones.
This summer will see AJ support Sir Tom Jones again, Simply Red, Will Young and the 2Cellos in a packed summer of performances.
This latest announcement coincides with AJ releasing his new EP In The Moment on June 20.
He recorded the EP in front of a live audience in his hometown of Halifax following a 30-date sell-out UK tour with Collabro earlier this year.
