Roadworks due to start at Friendly

Emergency sewer repairs begin on Monday(20th) at Burnley Road, Friendly.

A problem with the sewer is causing flooding and engineering specialists will carry out a three week project on behalf of Yorkshire Water to investigate and carry out repairs.

Contractors will have to dig in the road between number 25 and 39 Bankfield Terrace.

In order to reduce disruption, traffic lights will not be used.

However, for safety reasons, parking bays will be suspended.

Yorkshire Water Project Manager Anna Murphy, said: “We want to reassure residents and road users that we’ll do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum and complete the work as quickly as possible.

“It’s extremely important we repair this collapsed sewer and prevent sewer flooding.

“We’d like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
