Wring Out The Clowns, on Monday, February 8, will see some of the biggest names in UK comedy perform in the town. And it’s a cause particularly close to Rory’s heart.

He said: “To be hit by floods once is devastating. To be hit again- and worse- is heartbreaking.

“I love Hebden Bridge and when I was last there on a sunny afternoon last autumn, all seemed normal, the river flowing harmlessly and the floods of 2012 hard to imagine.

“My heart goes out to the people who’ve had their homes and businesses ruined. But there’s something I can do to help, which is put on a show, so I will. Come and enjoy the evening and support your community as it rebuilds.”

Rory will be performing alongside Sarah Millican, Chris Ramsey, Justin Moorhouse, local lad Jack Carroll and an as yet unnamed mystery guest to raise funds for those affected by the Boxing Day floods.

The event will be held at the 1,500 capacity Victoria Theatre, Halifax.
