Rotarians trip to Durham

Eleven Sowerby Bridge Rotarians visited County Durham on a two day trip, visiting attractions such as Beamish and Bowes Museum. Rotarians and their partners also experienced 19th Century rail travel and took a ride on the Pockerley Waggonway, as well as visiting Pockerly Hall, The Colliery, Pit Village and a 1940s farm. There, they viewed a life size clockwork swan from the 18th century that catches a fish and is only turned on for 34 seconds at 2pm each day to preserve the mechanisms.
