There was excitement this week as a royal visitor made a very special appearance in Calderdale.
The Princess Royal arrived in the borough, on a visit to West Yorkshire Scouts Watersports Centre in Ripponden.
Princess Anne was at Green Withens in her role as Patron of RYA Sailability.
The charity is dedicated to providing sailing opportunities for people disabilities.
Green Withens is registered as a Sailability Centre and provides opportunities for scouts with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, sight and hearing problems and other conditions.
During her visit, the Princess Royal met cub scouts from across West Yorkshire, who took part in a full day of activities.
Richard Dyson, assistant county commissioner of West Yorkshire Scouts, said: “It was very exciting and it was great for all the young people up there.
“They were all really excited - The Princess was very good with them and very personable.
“She spoke to every young person there and it was a real privilege to be part of the visit. It was a really good day.”
